What strikes me about the pics at that site is his eyes--pretty but guarded. Look at an out-of-the-closet picture, then at these older ones. There's a brightness that wasn't there before--the whole person is at home and comfortable. I noticed this first in a pic of Richard Chamberlain, after he came out in his book. It takes tremendous energy to run a personal 'cloaking device,' and when it's dropped...wow. Even the gay escort dude who outed that homophobic preacher a few months back--he was on some news show explaining that he blew the whistle because he just couldn't take the hypocrisy... unlike the poor sanctimonious bastard scrambling to hide from himself, even though his occupation was kind of iffy, he was not the one looking furtive and guilty. It's no wonder "I Am What I Am" is practically a gay anthem.
John and Scott have probably saved a bunch of gay teenagers from suicide just by loving each other and being an example of what's possible.
