Heehee, that's my theory too! Pellew wanted Horry all to himself but his precious protégé was too busy meeting and having eye-sex with his blond mate to feel Pellew's more-than-paternal love, so he convicted Archie! It was jealousy, at least on a subconscious level. I can't find a better explanation for Pellew's action in Retribution...
