Been very frustrating, not being able to share all the chit chat and fun. Like Christopher Martin Jenkins' wonderful verbal faux pas.

Or how very much I've enjoyed two of my Christmas books. A Tommy's Sketchbook is a moving account of life in the trenches through diary entries and sketches from Lance-Corporal Henry Buckle. A real eye opener and a bit of leaven to the depressing stuff I usually encounter ref WWI. Canal Street Gothic is a little gem of a book. If you like your gay short stories thought provoking rather than just steamy, you might give it a try. And it's in aid of Albert Kennedy Trust, which is always good!

Excellent docu-dramas on BBC 4

Been watching them this week and am always stunned at how truth is so much more unbelievable than fiction. The latest offering, about Operation Mincemeat, completely gasted my flabber.
