Lent Thoughts 3

Luv is pashient n kind, luv haz no jelusniss or showin offz, luv no is stuck-up or r00dz.

nodbear picked up on the some of the qualities which imbue an act with lovingkindess, and one of them was about mutuality. That, for me, is one of the "not showing off" bits. Do something good but don't keep harping on about it and don't make the person on the receiving end feel naff. Having good deeds "done to you" isn't always great for self-esteem.
Looking at these other qualities of lovingkindness, they're a pretty tall order for most of us, but that doesn't mean we can't aspire to them. Too easy for Christians to say, "I could never be like that so I won't bother." Too easy for Christians to ignore these verses altogether in favour of "Thou shalt not..."
