Lent thoughts 11

Long ago, in a galaxy far away, I used to do some parish visiting. (Always amazes me how I get allowed to do important, grown up type of things.) I remember the training being great: just this weekend I ran across some of the material, and there was a little piece that really (in the words of the wonderful shezzawatto) brought me up with a round turn. It felt right to explore it these next few posts, not least because I could do with learning from it, anew.

When I ask you to listen to me
and you start giving me advice
you have not done what I asked

When I ask you to listen to me
and you begin to tell me why I shouldn't feel like I do
You are trampling on my feelings
