Lent thoughts 23
Mar. 13th, 2013 10:04 amMore on your man Chris Davis. Am struggling to find a nice link with a piccie of him, so this will have to do. Scroll down and you'll see him getting his medal.
Apparently he gave a great talk recently (I think at a church) where he said that the charities he works with had plenty of money. Trouble was it all lay in the bank accounts of his audience.
Christians can be incredibly generous, but they can also be tight fisted, both in terms of money and generosity of spirit. Interesting to note that the food bank doesn't get enough tinned meat products as local Christians (sweeping statement coming here) generally are well enough off to buy fresh meat so don't tend to think of the tinned variety when (and if) they pop some extra tins in the trolley for SCRATCH. But I said I'd be positive and the generosity seen from churches and schools at harvest time is wonderful.
