Advent - Day 9
Dec. 9th, 2013 08:57 amYesterday,
nodbear had a great idea. An Advent activity this week might be to celebrate the extraordinary in ordinary in someone you know or in your community - thinking it over I realise the list is a long one.
I've seen lots of examples of this over the last few weeks, so will share a few.
There are many other examples. Simple things, the sum of which is wonderful. If more people would show that generosity of spirit, what a great place our world would be.

I've seen lots of examples of this over the last few weeks, so will share a few.
- A little girl (about 7) getting her friends to help her hold a garage/cake sale to raise money for those affected by the hurricane in the Philippines, and making over £200.
- People filling shoeboxes with gifts to send to children they don't know in countries all over the world.
- People donating toys and games and art kits and all sorts of wonderful things for children in this country to get presents at Christmas when they may not have otherwise.
There are many other examples. Simple things, the sum of which is wonderful. If more people would show that generosity of spirit, what a great place our world would be.
