There's something about the AOS boys that's like slipping on an old, fuzzy, cozy sweater, you know? Just something comfortable and comforting. (Well, I'm not sure even I could describe AOS Horatio as comfortable, but you know what I mean ;) )
This was lovely, especially the little interlude with Cattermole and Rogerson. The ending was just sweet and sad, though -- Horatio did smile - he let Kennedy do all that he wished, returning the compliment as he helped him into his coat and picked non-existent pieces of dust from it., for whatever reason, just reads as very wistful to me. Horatio's doing everything he can to protect his lover, even as it hurts himself. I have to wonder if this will ever come back to bite him...
