
Matching - just about - the beauty of Canonteign Falls with the north coast of Jersey.
nodbear referred to creation of beauty and the offering of hope. For me, Jersey encapsulates so much of that. There is wild beauty there complimented by that created by man, including modern additions like the beautiful marina. But much of the manmade is ugly, stark and a reminder that the Channel Islands have been fought over for hundreds of years, being the only part of the British Isles to be invaded during WWII. Much of the German building - gun emplacements, underground hospital, etc - remain as a testament to those years and to the lives of those lost in the building of them.
