Places with 'atmosphere'

Thos of you who know me well also know I'm a sucker for graveyards, especially military ones, and end up all of a lather. I also like places of emotional significance (that sounds pretentious but it makes sense to me) and wanted to celebrate some of them in the run up to Friday.
charliecochrane will be doing a similar thing on heroes.
Thirty odd years ago we spent a very wet holiday in a tent in Derbyshire. On one of the few dry days we visited Eyam. It was one of the eeriest places I'd ever been, as if the memory of all those deaths and sadness couldn't be eradicated.
