Report part the first of the big day out

It’s always wonderful to be around people who “get it”, to whom you don’t have to explain why Vaughn Williams’ Variation on a theme of Thomas Tallis makes you cry, so meeting up with
esteven yesterday was such a delight. Were your ears burning, because many of you got a mention, in the four plus hours of almost constant chatting (interrupted only by important things like consuming soup). Victory sail wasn't on display (chiz!) but we blagged our way into a roped off area and got to see some of the Geoff Hunt Aubrey cover originals which weren't on display.
We spent a fair amount of time looking at Dock 9 and discussing the filming of Les Mis there. And trying to get at least a few pictures that didn't include the WWI boat.

Victory looks sad without her masts (I could hardly bear to look at the old girl).

But there was one huge surprise. (No, not Surprise.) Keeping that for next time.

Poor Victory - without a sail... :(
I would soooo like to see her in all her glory again...
