Teeny tiny Torchwood ficlet

Characters: Jack, Ianto and someone who will remain nameless.

Notes: [livejournal.com profile] allegro_mnt has been enticing me into writing fic about a certain person or two. This is for her.
I have no claim on the first two of the three people involved and I wish I owned the third.

“Been picking up waifs and strays again?” Jack tipped his heads towards the toilet, where the unexpected visitor was paying a short call.

“That’s hardly fair. That sounds as if I go around hoovering up any old vagrants I come across.” Ianto looked rightly offended; he had merely been exhibiting a bit of the milk of human kindness, helping a fellow man when he was in distress.

“And you don’t? Pterodactyls, weevils and – what’s this one when it’s at home?” Jack had been granted merely a glimpse of whatever-it-was’ back as it went to allegedly clean the oil off its hands. Or whatever it had instead of hands, if it was an alien.

“It’s just an ordinary bloke, Jack. His motorbike broke down outside and I’ve been giving him a hand with it. We need some parts so he’ll have to stay here for the night. He’ll never get a room with the boxing on at the Millennium.” Ianto reached for some mugs. “And don’t start getting any ideas when you see him.”

“Nice, is he?”

“Jack, behave yourself for once. He won’t be interested.” Ianto fussed over the coffee, trying to hide his face. Harkness could read him like a book and this evening he was saying he wasn’t interested in me – don’t you dare try it on.

“How do you know? You never can tell one hundred per cent.” Jack leaned to one side, trying to gauge what his colleague was thinking. “And if there's not even the slightest chance he’s available, what were the pair of you up to coming through the door?”

Ianto could not control his blush. It had been the most clumsy of passes on his part and he really hoped that the other chap hadn’t really understood what was going on and could laugh it off rather than taking offence. “Oh. That. He was showing me how to bind onto a rolling maul.”

Jack rolled his eyes. Now he knew the guy was an alien – that expression bore no resemblance to any form of English he’d come across.

I'm not sure which part was [livejournal.com profile] allegro_mnt's idea and which was yours but I'm going to have to blame one of you for the persistant thoughts of Ianto and the unnamed personage in a rolling maul. Or even out of a rolling maul. They can even pack a scrum if they like. I don't care whether there wasn't mutual interest, the mental images are too good. *g*

I'll just be over here drooling a bit. :P

This reminds me of the time Jamie was asked if he'd had a same-sex encounter and he said it couldn't be avoided when playing rugby. *giggles*

Sorry if you receive this twice ... trying to sort out LJ ...

#allegro_mnt has been enticing me into writing fic about a certain person or two. This is for her.#
What a lovely surprise *g* Oh thank you sooooooooooooo much!!!

#I wish I owned the third.#
Don’t we all. *happy sigh*

#Ianto looked rightly offended; he had merely been exhibiting a bit of the milk of human kindness, helping a fellow man when he was in distress.#
Was he now??!!! *tut-tut* J/k, from what you’ve told me, ianto seems a good fellow.

#His motorbike broke down outside and I’ve been giving him a hand with it.#
Let’s hope neither Ianto nor Jack has seen a certain picture of someone with a motorbike.

#He’ll never get a room with the boxing on at the Millennium.#
Love all the detail - boxing’s coming up at the millennium, isn’t it?

#“Jack, behave yourself for once. He won’t be interested.”#
I’m glad someone is protecting stranded!lad’s honour … And he would need protection from jack. I just hope jack hasn’t seen those clips …

# he was saying he wasn’t interested in me – don’t you dare try it on. #
*shock* I’m a little surprised at ianto … of course stranded!lad couldn’t react, not with his special someone across the channel.

#Ianto could not control his blush. It had been the most clumsy of passes on his part#
Oh so mister Ianto made a pass at someone, did he???? Well, can we blame him?!! No, we can’t …

#“Oh. That. He was showing me how to bind onto a rolling maul.”#
*sporfles* brilliant writing, as always.

# Now he knew the guy was an alien – that expression bore no resemblance to any form of English he’d come across#
Oh poor rugby!deprived!jack … And residing in Cardiff he really has no excuse!

Thank you so much. Simply brilliant as always!! And so fun to see how someone was added in.

OMG are you writing Torchwood now? Oh lucky, lucky day! (I've just discovered the fandom yesterday... yum)
Thanks, that was (as per usual) lovely. :)
