Characters: Jack, Ianto and someone who will remain nameless.

Notes: [livejournal.com profile] allegro_mnt has been enticing me into writing fic about a certain person or two. This is for her.
I have no claim on the first two of the three people involved and I wish I owned the third.

“Been picking up waifs and strays again?” Jack tipped his heads towards the toilet, where the unexpected visitor was paying a short call.

“That’s hardly fair. That sounds as if I go around hoovering up any old vagrants I come across.” Ianto looked rightly offended; he had merely been exhibiting a bit of the milk of human kindness, helping a fellow man when he was in distress.

“And you don’t? Pterodactyls, weevils and – what’s this one when it’s at home?” Jack had been granted merely a glimpse of whatever-it-was’ back as it went to allegedly clean the oil off its hands. Or whatever it had instead of hands, if it was an alien.

“It’s just an ordinary bloke, Jack. His motorbike broke down outside and I’ve been giving him a hand with it. We need some parts so he’ll have to stay here for the night. He’ll never get a room with the boxing on at the Millennium.” Ianto reached for some mugs. “And don’t start getting any ideas when you see him.”

“Nice, is he?”

“Jack, behave yourself for once. He won’t be interested.” Ianto fussed over the coffee, trying to hide his face. Harkness could read him like a book and this evening he was saying he wasn’t interested in me – don’t you dare try it on.

“How do you know? You never can tell one hundred per cent.” Jack leaned to one side, trying to gauge what his colleague was thinking. “And if there's not even the slightest chance he’s available, what were the pair of you up to coming through the door?”

Ianto could not control his blush. It had been the most clumsy of passes on his part and he really hoped that the other chap hadn’t really understood what was going on and could laugh it off rather than taking offence. “Oh. That. He was showing me how to bind onto a rolling maul.”

Jack rolled his eyes. Now he knew the guy was an alien – that expression bore no resemblance to any form of English he’d come across.

I've been writing Torchwood (mainly crossover with HH but some standalone) for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages. All under the Torchwood tag.

John Barrowman is my homeboy (well, Scott Gill is actually my homeboy but John might get jealous...)

Thanks for the kind words!
