Both [livejournal.com profile] nodbear and [livejournal.com profile] vespican have featured poems or pictures of pets recently. Alas I don't have a pet to offer, although I do have an encounter with carnivorous budgies:

Not my arm, thank goodness. You can see the resemblance to dinosaurs, can't you?

Oh there were times with our bird that the dinosaur ancestry was very apparent! If we have another feathered pet, perhaps we'll name him/her "Dino" after the pet in the Flintstones.

LOL I have taken to calling seagulls (the vile things) flying dinosaurs, although maybe that insults dinosaurs!

I do find the sound of gulls evocative (I can understand how the elves in LOTR feel) although their increasing encroachment inland is rather taking the gilt off that particular gingerbread.

The two closest to the elbow appear to be doing something I remember He-Lo doing. He'd nibble a bit, much like a dog sniffing, and then sweep back and forth with his beak. Not sure if it was a sign of affection or what. He wasn't biting or chomping down, more like he was investigating or trying to show something.

Interesting. I'll consult the family to see if they can remember more detail. I wondered if they were enjoying his sun block!
