That's why i like O'Brian because he uses so many subtle ways to tell you things. Absolutely. I find very few writers are able to capture this effectively. So well done the two of you for achieving this!
You can admire all the seets on the menu as long as you only order one from the waiter! I like that. I'll use that in future. ;D

ANd that is a prerogative i do and will continue to exercise in my daily life. when i went for dessert with a friend about a week ago we spent aaaaaaaaaaaaages gazing at all the confections on offer ... so hard to decide ...
But deciding among the lovely guys is very hard too, though i suppose my first choice is still the kind, not as infatuated with horatio version of archie if he's still on offer though i'd rather have the archieinlovewithhoratio as a friend than the archienotaskeenonhoratio if i could only choose one i guess ...
